Twitter.com is down, status.twitter.com is down

TWITTER WAS HACKED BY IRANIAN CYBER ARMYTwitter.com is down, status.twitter.com is down (not useful, perhaps they should host it at blogger). Some tweets are getting through at the moment because parts of the API are up. Search also seems to be working. The Firehose is up – Tweets are coming in from FriendFeed (all those tweets about ‘is twitter down’ are from third-party sites).

It is suggested that if you use the same password on your Twitter account with other accounts, now would be a good time to change your password on those twitter other accounts.

There is a history between Iran and Twitter. It was well noted and covered in the media that Twitter was used as a tool during the Iranian election protests. The US government actually intervened to assure that Twitter was available to the protestors in Tehran and around the country. This attack may be an act of reprisal from groups who were not happy with the role that Twitter played during the protests

There is speculation at the moment that this may be a DNS redirect, which means that the Twitter.com domain has been redirected to the defacement page. This doesn’t explain why some sub-domains are down, while others are currently still alive (such as search)

  • Blackberry 8300 Curve – Fortus Mobile Phone Review

    Close but not Quite Perfection

With mobile phones looking to narrow the gap all the time between themselves and the dedicated PDA handsets on the market – the Apple iPhone springs to mind – manufacturers like Research In Motion (RIM) are having to try even harder to make their products stand out. Enter the new Blackberry 8300 Curve, with a host of new features yet, surprisingly, some glaring ones too.

The fact this new Blackberry has come out so soon after the 8800 model says everything there is to know about just how good mobile phones are at the moment – RIM is obviously worried about the diminishing market. However, PDA’s like the Blackberry 8300 Curve can still offer some features mobile phones can’t, and it’s these features that make this such an exciting product.

The main difference between this model and the recently released 8800 is that the Curve is a lot slimmer. In fact, with the change in size that RIM has given the Blackberry 8300, you’d be forgiven for thinking that you’re holding a normal mobile phone in your hand. The only thing that gives it away is the standard QWERTY keyboard just below the large display screen.

Design-wise, the 8300 Curve benefits from a black and silver colour scheme, which offers it just the right amount of futuristic styling that PDA users seem to love. It’s extremely lightweight as well, at least for a PDA, and is full 1.5 ounces lighter than the Treo. It feels good to hold as well, thanks to the small addition of rubber grips on the side, making it feel more secure and less prone to slipping from your grip.

A neat little trick is that the 2.5-inch screen has sensors that detect what the lighting conditions are like. Too dark or too bright, and the Blackberry 8300 will automatically adjust the brightness and contrast. This makes it a lot easier to navigate your icon-driven menus, and is a definite step in the right direction, not just for Blackberry but PDA’s and mobile phones in general.

Unlike some similar models, the screen isn’t touch-sensitive; however, there is a little trackball nub that you use to move around the screen. Using the keyboard is a lot easier on this model as well, with RIM reverting back to the larger spaces between each of the QWERTY keyboard elements. The smart screen allows pictures taken on the 2.0meag-pixel camera to look just that little bit sharper, especially if you compare pictures from an equivalent specced mobile phone camera. However, there’s still no video playback option.

If there is one thing that stops the Blackberry 8300 Curve from being almost perfect, it’s that it’s not a 3G unit. This seems almost criminal when you look at the features it does come with, yet for some reasons, RIM haven’t seen fit to supply the 8300 with 3G features. There’s no Wi-Fi support either, and again it seems like a missed opportunity. It does make up for this a little by being quad-band, but Wi-Fi would have been nicer.

Yet the Blackberry has always been about its office suite and more professional approach than a mere mobile phone can offer. In that respect, it doesn’t disappoint at all.

How To Lose Weight While You Surf The Web

I can hear what you are thinking… “Yeah right, that’s just another off-the-wall claim. Lose weight while the surf the internet? Come on, give me a break.”

Actually not so. In fact, the reason why I love technology, why I have an iPhone, iPod, Sony SZ (James Bond’s laptop from Casino Royale) and why I fluently speak geek (i.e. terabytes, gigahertz, and I code HTML in my sleep) is the same reason that I am writing this article. Technology is simply amazing; it allows things that were impossible yesterday to become commonplace tomorrow.

So is it really possible to lose weight while you spend time at your computer? Well, yes it is, and it is due to a new kind of scientificaly advanced computer software called ’subliminal mind programming software.’ Let me explain.

If you have ever read any kind of self-development literature (and seriously, who hasn’t?) you will be familiar with the concept of affirmations.

It’s usually the same thing (with some variations on the details)… you saw that tricked out Bentley Continental GT while you were out and about last Friday night, and you could not stop thinking about how badly you want a car like that. So when you are back home, you re-read parts of some of your self-dev books and they tell you to repeat out loud to yourself “I have a new Bentley” multiple times, and when you do your ‘wealth meditations’ you bask in the feeling of owning your new sexy car.

You do this for a week or so, and then you begin to focus on something new. And three months later, guess what? No Bentley! Still that old 2000 Honda Accord with squeaky brakes.

Or maybe while you were out last Friday night you saw your ex-girlfriend or boyfriend, and they have lost alot of weight and are now drop-dead gorgeous. Not just gorgeous, but finger-lickin’ good. I mean they look so good that you cannot even believe you ever had a shot with them, and are now kicking yourself because you messed it up.

So when you go home you feel like you finally woke up from a sleepwalking daze consisting of ho-hos and potato chips, and you decide then and there to improve your looks and your life. So you call up your local gym, order a yoga mat and a pull-up bar on eBay and commence to slowly starve yourself over the coming week or two.

And three months later, guess what? You are still not fit and you still do not have a chance with your ex. In fact, you feel embarassed and self-conscious just speaking to them.

Now… let’s examine the common denominator in every single one of your tried-and-failed life improvement goals. The one thing that holds true for each of them is that you attempted to achieve your goal using your conscious mind, the waking part of your awareness.

And what choice did you have? It was your conscious mind that read the self-development books, saw the Bentley Continental or your ex-girlfriend, and decided that it wanted to have those things. It was your conscious mind that tried to come up with methods and tactics that you could use to bring these desirable things into your life experience. And it was also your conscious mind that failed to deliver.

However, there is another way. The part of your awareness that we call subconscious or unconscious is vastly more powerful than the conscious part, and chances are that it was your subconscious mind that ruined your life-improvement attempts in the past and will continue to do so in the future. But using the advanced kinds of subliminal mind programming software that are now available to the public (and are also very affordable) it is possible to circumvent your conscious mind entirely and deliver affirmations directly to your subconscious.

This is so powerful because your affirmations will no longer conflict with your belief system, and will actually CHANGE your belief system to mold to the shape of your desires.

So instead of consciously wishing for that new Bentley Continental GT while simultaneously having a well-engrained subconscious belief that you are not worthy of owning such a fine automobile, you can ‘reprogram’ into your belief system that you are deserving of such a prized possession.

The way this kind of subliminal software works is, after it is installed on your computer, you simply can turn it on and go about your normal business of checking email and checking new blog posts, and all the while your computer screen will flash unnoticable and unobtrusive messages directly to your subconscious mind about whatever you desire.

If, for example, something that you desire is to lose weight (as the title suggests), it just so happens that this kind of mind programming software comes loaded with a program designed to do just that. So you turn on the software whenever you go to your computer to check your email, and after a few weeks you will find that you naturally begin to gravitate towards apples and orange juice rather than twinkies and skittles.

So yes, to answer the question that you asked after you read the title of this article, it is possible to lose weight while you surf the web (and so much more) by making use of newly-developed subliminal mind programming software.

The two kinds subliminal mind programming software that I use and have had great success with are called Subliminal Power and Brain Power Pro
